Accessing Your Admin Area For The First Time

OK, everything should be ready to go, so let's get your admin username and password setup and get you logged into your administration area.

To navigate to your admin area login form, go to:

http://www.yourdomain.com/msm/manager/

...where "yourdomain" is your domain name for your hosting account.

You will be presented with a welcome screen, and it will ask you to set your username and password to log into your admin area for the first time. Don't worry, if you decide to change your admin username and password at a later date, you can change them from within the administration area.

After setting your username and password, login to your admin area. after this, the first link you need to click on is the System link, then click on the Admin / Site Setup link. Fill in all details on this form, including the folder form field if you installed this script into a folder on your server, otherwise leave this field blank.

Also, don't forget to fill in the CAN-SPAM form fields to make sure that your email system is set up properly, and that you will be in compliance with the CAN-SPAM email laws before emailing any new members you receive.

Next, click on the Purchase Page link, and edit the purchase page header details to read the way that works for you and your business. You may also decide to leave this as is, in which case I would recommend CHMODing this file back to 644 for security reasons.

Setting Up Your Paypal® Purchase Link

Next, click on the Paypal® Setup link, and enter your Paypal® details to start excepting Paypal® payments for access into your membership club.

Enter your Paypal® email address (this is the same Paypal® email address you have added to your Paypal® account), then enter a name for your membership site. This will be what end users see at Paypal® when registering for a membership account with you.

Finally, add in the price you will be charging for access to your membership site (do NOT add a dollar sign "$") and choose whether this will be a monthly fee or a one time charge for access. Click the submit button, and save your information.

Setting Up A Free Membership

If you want to run a free membership site, then select the Free Membership tick box when saving your information, and your end users will not be charged for access to your site. What's nice about this is, that you will have every member of your site on your email list and will be able to email them your updates, and offers.

You could easily setup your free membership to state that if they unsubscribe from your email list that their accounts will be removed. Make it a stipulation that free access is a return favor for them allowing you to email them every once in awhile. It's up to you, it's your membership club now. :)

Creating Custom Member Pages

If you want to create a custom page for your membership site, you can either create a new page from the ground up or use the provided template and simply add in your own HTML, Java-script, PHP, or other programming language. The template file already has all necessary php code added to secure the page from outside viewers.

If you want to use the supplied template file to create your own custom pages, you will find the template.php file located in the docs folder of your supplied package.

If you want to create your own page from the ground up, just remember to add the following line of code to the very top of your web page to keep access to members only and avoid outside viewers from seeing the page:

After you have edited your page and you're happy with it, upload it into the members folder of your site, and add a link to it using the files/links section of your admin area.
